Outstanding Environmental Project Award!
Project managers are thrilled to once again receive a Friends of the Estuary Outstanding Environmental Project Award at San Francisco Estuary Partnership's State of the Estuary Conference, this time for our Phase 2 Ravenswood restoration on the shores of Menlo Park!
SFEP award criteria include projects that significantly benefit the Estuary and further the goals of the 2022 Estuary Blueprint. Our work at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge System's Ravenswood Ponds enhanced ponds, helped with nearby urban street flooding, and culminated in December with breaching a 300-acre pond to launch growth of tidal marsh habitat.
Collaborative partners include not only landowner USFWS, but also the California State Coastal Conservancy, Ducks Unlimited, the California Wildlife Foundation, the San Francisco Estuary Institute, and CSU Sacramento, and many other partners essential to completing this work.
